Fond du Lac residents have an opportunity to see a warbird during a rare flyover this Independence Day holiday weekend. Retired Navy Lieutenant Commander Ron Roen has arranged an AT-6 flyover of Fond du Lac for Sunday afternoon. Roen says the AT-6 will make an initial approach around 2:30pm Sunday, weather permitting. Roen says the plane will approach from the south on Main Street, flying north about 1,000 feet over Veterans Park, continuing north over Lakeside Park making an east to west flight over Promen Drive. Roen says the flyover is co-sponsored by BMO Harris bank and the Fond du Lac Holiday Inn.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
