SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) — Authorities used chain saws to clear brush and reach the victim of a car crash along the Sheboygan River. Authorities say the driver struck several trees and a power pole in the crash early Friday in Sheboygan’s Kiwanis Park. He was found outside the vehicle along the river bank. Divers searched the river for a possible second victim, but found no one. The driver was airlifted to a Sheboygan hospital then transferred to Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
