Dodge County sheriff’s investigators have developed two persons of interest in connection with the theft of grave markers from Dodge County cemeteries. Sheriff Pat Ninmann says investigators believe the thefts at a Beaver Dam cemetery and another cemetery in the town of Burnett are related. Ninmann says investigators came up with two persons of interest after receiving a tip from the public. “I think we are safe to say that they are related. We do have two persons of interest that we are looking for to talk to and interview to see if they can provide any additional information,” Ninmann told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
