The Fond du Lac city council has officially selected 17 people to serve on a Lakeside Park exploratory committee. At their meeting Wednesday evening iInstead of selecting five random names from a hat, the council decided to let all seven members who tied for the final spots to join…making it a 17 member committee. Council vice president LeeAnn Lorrigan says the next step is determining what the committee’s directive will be. The committee will explore potential development options at Lakeside Park:

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
