MILWAUKEE (AP) — A federal appeals court has revived a lead paint lawsuit in Wisconsin, which could also reactivate more than 170 other lead poisoning cases. The appeals court reversed a ruling by a federal judge who in 2010 threw out a case involving a Milwaukee boy who suffered lead poisoning and sued six paint manufacturers. The appeals court’s ruling sends the case back to federal court in Milwaukee for further proceedings.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
