Fond du Lac County sheriff Mick Fink’s campaign has received a big shot in the arm. County Executive Allen Buechel has announced that he is endorsing Fink for re-election as the Sheriff of Fond du Lac County. Buechel says Fink is an experienced and effective law enforcement officer and skilled administrator. “That combination does not always exist with a sheriff but it certainly does with Mick Fink,” Buechel said. “He’s been a good leader for the department and serves the people of Fond du Lac County very well.” Fink is being challenged by Fond du Lac police detective Bill Ledger in the August 12th primary election.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
