On July 30, 2014 at approximately 6:40 a.m., a 37-year old Fond du Lac man was taken into custody by members of the City of Fond du Lac Police Department SWAT team following an armed domestic dispute at a residence in the 200 block of 17th Street. At approximately 4:17 a.m. Officers were called to the Walgreen’s Store at the corner of Johnson and Main Street to meet with a victim wanting to report a domestic dispute that occurred at the 17th Street residence. The victim, a 28-year-old Fond du Lac woman, stated that she and her husband had gotten into an argument at their residence and that the suspect put a hand gun to her head and would not let her go for a period of time. The victim was able to eventually flee the residence and notify Police of the situation and the fact that there were also two young children still in the home. The City of Fond du Lac Police Department SWAT team was called to the scene. Negotiators from the SWAT team were able to make contact with the suspect who after a short time surrendered to police without further incident. The children were found in the home unharmed. Fond du Lac Fire Department Paramedics assisted with standing by at the scene until the all clear was given. The investigation into this incident is ongoing and it is anticipated the suspect will be facing numerous felony charges.
