7-17-14 wi attorneys ask entire appeals court to hear arguments on gay marriage ban

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin attorneys have asked the entire 7th Circuit Court of Appeals to hear their arguments on upholding the state's gay marriage ban. Ten judges sit on the 7th Circuit, but three-judge panels typically decide cases. Attorneys for the state say all 10 judges should weigh in because gay marriage is an issue of national importance.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Democrats in the Wisconsin state Senate are asking Gov. Scott Walker and fellow Republican Attorney General J.B. FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) — State Senator Glenn Grothman has raised nearly $138,000 for his campaign for the congressional seat held by retiring Representative Tom Petri. A campaign finance report shows Grothman received about $135,000 in individual donations and about $3,000 from political action committees. Grothman faces Republican primary challenges next month from State Senator Joe Leibham, state Representative Duey Stoebel and technical college instructor Tom Denow.

WEST BEND, Wis. (AP) — West Bend police say they will seek child neglect charges against the mothers of two young boys who have twice taken vehicles on joyrides this summer.  Capt. 7-17-14 dodge county repeat drunken drivers

Two people were arrested for repeat drunk driving following separate incidents in Dodge County.  Sheriff Pat Ninmann says 44 year old Deric Drongeson of Ashippun received non life-threatening injuries in a one vehicle rollover crash on Washington Road near Franklin Road Tuesday night.  Drongeson was transported to the hospital and arrested for his 5th owi.  Early Wednesday morning a deputy observed a vehicle speeding 122 mph on County Highway O in the town of Ashippun.  Twenty […]

Fire destroyed a vehicle in Fond du Lac Wednesday morning.  Firefighters were called to the scene at 16 North Brooke Street for a report of an SUV on fire.  The fire was quickly extinguished but not before causing heavy  damage to the vehicle.  No injuries were reported.

7-16-14 police locate suspect in puppy case

OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — Oshkosh police say they have located a Missouri man who they suspect left a puppy behind a truck stop trash bin.  Police say they spoke to the man and he admitted he left the puppy.
