7-12-14 endangered common tern chicks stomped or crushed

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin wildlife officials say someone either stomped to death or crushed 25 chicks that belong to an endangered species.  The endangered common terns were killed on an island in Lake Butte des Morts near Oshkosh.  DNR spokeswoman Joanne Haas says the chicks were discovered Tuesday night. (AP) — Authorities used chain saws to clear brush and reach the victim of a car crash along the Sheboygan River.  Authorities say the driver struck several trees and a power pole in the crash early Friday in Sheboygan's Kiwanis Park.
