7-8-14 fdl apartment fire

Several occupants were treated for smoke inhalation following a fire this morning at a Fond du lac apartment complex.  Firefighters were called to the scene at 180 North Butler Street  and contained the fire to a first floor apartment.  The unit is uninhabitable and there was smoke damage reported throughout the 20 unit building.

7-8-14 fire destroys dodge county home

Fire destroyed a Town of Burnett home early Monday.  At 6:15 a.m., firefighters were dispached to N8800 Fir Road for a garage fire that quickly spread to the house.  The family was able to exit the residence without injury.  The home is considered a total loss.  Firefighters from the Burnett, Beaver Dam, Waupun, Juneau, FoxLake, Iron Ridge, Horicon, Lomira, Mayville, and Clyman Fire Departments responded to the blaze.

7-8-14 toddler injured in lawnmower accident improving

A Brownsville toddler who was seriously injured after he was run over by a lawnmower operated by his grandfather continues to improve.  Dodge County Sheriff  Pat Ninmann says she spoke with the grandmother of the three year old who said “he is doing great.”   Ninmann says the grandmother said doctors  were able to save most of his hand, with the exception of two fingers, and they were also able to do surgery […]

7-8-14 fdl county parks director injured in bike accident

Fond du Lac County Planning and Parks Director Sam Tobias received minor injuries in a bicycle accident when he was struck by a vehicle backing out of a driveway.  The incident happened over the noon hour Saturday on Dixie Street.  Tobias was transported to St. Agnes Hospital where he was treated and released.  The driver of the vehicle was cited for unsafe backing of a motor vehicle.

A newly released report from the Natural Resources Defense Council says the water quality at Wisconsin beaches is eighth-worst in the nation.
