The Fond du Lac County Public Health Office says now is the time of year when  residents should be alert for blue-green algae blooms on Lake Winnebago.   Public Health Officer, Kim Mueller, says the algae has not been reported in Fond du Lac County yet…but has been found near Oshkosh. 7-7-14 state aid projections

Local school districts are projected to get more state aid next school year.  According to the state Department of Public Instruction, the Fond du Lac School District will receive $2.4 million more…a 6.3 percent increase.  The Waupun School District is slated to receive .62 percent more state aid, and the North Fond du lac School District’s increase is projected to be up nearly four percent.  North Fond du Lac superintendent Aaron Sadoff says […]

7-7-14 fdl county clean sweep

More than ten tons of hazardous chemical waste from households,  farms and businesses was collected during a recent Clean Sweep Program in Fond du Lac County.  Two hundred households brought potentially dangerous items for disposal to the county Fairgrounds.  A waste management Company sorted the items, disposing of them safely and keeping  them out of county drains and landfills.  Common household items brought in for disposal included  aerosols, flammable paints, fuels and batteries, […]

7-7-14 fdl county robbery conviction

One of three people accused of robbing a Fond du lac woman has been convicted.   At a hearing this week Joshua Gehde pleaded no contest to theft.   He was originally charged with robbery.   Fond du Lac judge Robert Wirtz placed Gehde on five years probation, plus a year in jail and ordered  Gehde pay restitution and court costs.  Courtney Shelly and Cori Ritz of Chilton were  also charged in the case.

A 22 year old Beaver Dam man charged with robbing Coyote Gas and Liquor in Beaver Dam and dealing heroin has pleaded not guilty to charges against him.  Zachery Turck entered the plea Wednesday in Dodge County Circuit Court.  He’s charged with armed robbery with threat of force, manufacturing with intent to deliver heroin, and possession of narcotic drugs. DEVILS LAKE, N.D. 7-7-14 oakfield woman injured in lawnmower accident

An Oakfield woman received non life-threatening injuries when she was pinned by a lawnmower over the weekend.   Shortly after 1pm Saturday rescue personnel were called to the scene at W 8095 Prairie Road in Oakfield.  The Sheriff's Office received a report that as a lawnmower was being loaded onto a trailer it had  rolled backward onto the 62-year-old- woman.
