POYGAN, Wis. (AP) — A Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman says an ultralight airplane crashed in central Wisconsin and the pilot was killed.  Elizabeth Isham Cory said Wednesday in a statement that the pilot was the sole occupant of the single-engine plane. TOWN OF MAINE, Wis. (AP) — An Outagamie County father and his teenage son are hospitalized after a lawn mower exploded.  The pair was working on the lawn mower at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Town of Maine when the fuel ignited.  Both were burned, and the father had to be airlifted to a Madison hospital. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A federal judge has given prosecutors, a conservative group and two unnamed parties more time to review what documents could be unsealed in a secret investigation into whether Governor Scott Walker's campaign and right-leaning organizations violated campaign finance law. On Tuesday, the parties involved filed a joint motion asking to extend the deadline to July 17th. The judge granted the motion this afternoon.

Traffic is expected to pick up Thursday afternoon as residents leave home for the long Fourth of July holiday weekend.   A Triple A survey projects about a two percent increase in holiday travel compared to last year.  AAA spokesperson Pam Moen says the majority of travelers, more than eight in 10 will travel by automobile, the highest level since 2007.   On the downside, Moen says travelers will likely pay the highest gas […]

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office will be out in force on land and on the water during the 4th of July holiday weekend.   Sheriff’s  Captain Rick Olig says peak travel times are expected to be Thursday afternoon and evening and again Sunday afternoon and evening.  Olig says  the department’s boat patrol will also be on Lake Winnebago.
