Julian Bradley says he is running for Secretary of State to restore faith in the office. Bradley is squaring off against state representative Gary Bies is Tuesday’s primary election. The winner will face longtime Secretary of State Doug LaFollette in the November election. Bies says he wants to eliminate the office which has had several of its duties stripped over the years. Bradley says he wants to reform the office and restore some of the duties it has lost. Bradley says he would work to rebuild bridges burned by the incumbent.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
