The Fond du Lac Salvation Army wants to make sure every child has the proper school supplies when they go back to school in a couple of weeks. Salvation Army captain Telinda Wilson says a back to school distribution will be held Saturday at the Fond du Lac Boys and Girls Club. Wilson says it’s a great feeling to know that children who are less fortunate don’t have to worry about basic school supplies at the start of a new school year. “We have almost a thousand kids registered this year to get back to school supplies,” Wilson told WFDL news.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
