Authorities have released the name of the Waupun man killed in a crash over the weekend on Highway 26 south of Waupun. Investigators say 58 year old Richard Johnson was killed in the crash. The State Patrol says Johnson, was southbound on 26 when he crossed the center line striking a northbound vehicle head-on. The driver of the northbound car, a 16 year old girl from Illinois suffered life threatening injuries. Police say alcohol does not appear to be a factor. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
