FOND DU LAC, Wis. –Inspiring students to reach their potential, Marian University began the new academic year by welcoming the Class of 2018 to campus on Tuesday, August 26. The Class of 2018 joins the total traditional undergraduate enrollment of 1,288 students that represents students from high schools within Wisconsin and beyond, including international students from Canada, Sweden, Philippines and India. In preparation for the new academic year, Marian University has expanded program offerings to include Exercise and Sport Science, and Community Health and Human Services as traditional undergraduate academic programs, as well as a 100% online Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a 100% online RN-BSN program within Adult and Graduate Studies. This year’s new first-year students began their school year serving the community, through several service-learning projects in and around the Fond du Lac area, including at the ASTOP Sexual Abuse Center, Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac, CSA Motherhouse, Fond du Lac County Land and Water Conservation Department, Woodlands Senior Center, Manor Care and Big Brothers/Big Sisters, among others. “The first day of college is an exciting and nervous time for all students. We’re here to help with that transition and help students achieve their personal and professional goals,”said Stacey Akey, vice president of enrollment management. “During their educational experience at Marian, students will take part in personal, one-on-one classroom experiences, with more than 90% of students engaging in hands-on classroom and internship learning opportunities.” Applications are still being accepted for adult undergraduate and graduate programs.
