A public meeting will be held this month on the possibility of another roundabout on Pioneer Road in Fond du lac. The roundabout would replace traffic signals at Pioneer and Military Roads near Mercury Marine when that section of Pioneer Road is reconstructed in 2017. A public meeting will be held from 5-7pm Wednesday September 17th at the Fond du Lac city-county government center. The section of Pioneer Road being improved will be closed to through traffic during construction.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
