todaySeptember 19, 2014

A Dodge County man will face trial on allegations he is a sexually violent person.   At a hearing Thursday Dodge County Circuit Court judge Steve Bauer found probable cause that 41 year old David Dejanovich is a sexually violent person.   The Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) filed a petition under the state’s sexual predator law against Dejanovich on Aug. 21.  According to the DOJ petition, Dejanovich was convicted of one count of second degree sexual assault of a child and one count of felony bail jumping in Dodge County. On April 27, 1994,  Dejanovich received seven years confinement in the Wisconsin State Prison System, imposed and stayed, and seven years probation.  Dejanovich’s probation was later revoked and he was ordered to serve seven years in prison.  Dejanovich was released from the Department of Corrections on Aug. 24, and is detained at the Dodge County Jail on federal charges.  The state’s petition alleges that Dejanovich suffers from a mental condition that predisposes him to engage in acts of sexual violence. The petition also alleges that Dejanovich is dangerous as his mental disorder makes it likely that he will engage in future acts of sexual violence
