Investigators say a Fond du Lac woman was intoxicated when she slammed into a Fond du lac police squad car Tuesday night. Sheriff’s captain Rick Olig says the crash happened shortly after 8pm Tuesday at the intersection of Macy and Second Streets. Officer Jarid Pfalzgraf, 24 years old, and the driver of the other car 44 year old Nairobi Hull of Fond du Lac were transported to St. Agnes Hospital and treated for non life threatening injuries. A preliminary investigation shows the squad car was southbound on Macy when a westbound car on Second Street went through the blinking red lights striking the squad.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
