MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Unemployment fell in every Wisconsin city and county last month. The state Department of Workforce Development reports today that unemployment dropped in all of the 32 largest cities and in all 72 counties in August compared with July. The state’s overall unemployment rate in July was 5.6 percent, the lowest it’s been since 2008.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
