A spokeswoman for a Wisconsin support group for victims of clergy sexual abuse says she is not surprised that a mediation session in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee bankruptcy case ended without a settlement. A second round of talks were held this week in Minnesota…and ended without an agreement. Monica Barrett with the Survivor Leadership Alliance says she doesn’t believe the archdiocese when it says it wouldn’t have the money to pay if it lost lawsuits filed by abuse victims. “I think its been very apparent throughout the entire duration of this bankruptcy that there has been no intention to mediate in a fair manner or resolve this issue with the survivors,” Barrett told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program. Hundreds of victims filed claims in bankruptcy court.
