Fond du Lac police are investigating a report of a home invasion on the southside of town. Assistant police chief Steve Klein says a couple on Meadowlane said they had posted an ad on Craigslist and a man and woman apparently responding to the ad forced their way into their home. Nobody was hurt. The suspects later fled and was last seen driving south on Martin Avenue in a silver colored car.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
