9-30-14 fdl county law enforcement say medical issues may have played role in fatal accidents

Fond du Lac County law enforcement is investigating whether medical issues may have played a role in separate traffic fatalities over the weekend.    Sheriff’s captain Rick Olig says a 63 year old Green Bay man was pronounced dead at the scene on Highway TC and M Friday afternoon.   The victim was in a group of about a dozen motorcyclists visiting cemeteries to pay respects to fallen veterans.  “There was some indication that he may have gone off the roadway about a mile before the crash and then went off the road near one of the curves on county trunk TC, hit an embankment, went airborne and was pronounced dead at the scene,”  Olig said.  Olig says authorities are also investigating if a West Bend man suffered a medical condition before his car crashed into a culvert on Highway 49 Sunday morning.  The victim was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
