WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) — Waukesha County prosecutors are asking that next week's preliminary hearing be postponed for one of the two 12-year-old girls accused of stabbing and nearly killing a classmate to please the fictional horror character Slender Man.  Assistant prosecutor Ted Szczupakiewicz  filed the request Wednesday. (AP) — At least two Dane County judges have granted adoptions by same-sex couples, thereby recognizing their marriages.  In the latest case Wednesday, Kat Riley adopted the 2-year-old biological daughter of her partner, Teresa Riley. MILWAUKEE (AP) — Thousands of more documents collected during the first John Doe investigation into former aides and associates of Gov. Scott Walker when he was Milwaukee County executive have been released.  The 7 gigabytes of documents were released Thursday by Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele. As summer turns to fall and winter the Fond du Lac Salvation Army is making a plea for assistance.  Salvation Army social services director Ron Jacobson says there’s a great need for non perishable food items to stock the food pantry.  Jacobson says there’s also a need for winter clothing and blankets.

9-11-14 johnson street bridge lane restrictions

Due to changing weather conditions the Johnson Street Bridge (STH 23) will have temporary lane restrictions between Military Road and Hickory Street on Thursday, September 11 during the daytime hours.  The south lane for eastbound traffic will be closed at 8:00 am and will reopen to regular traffic in the afternoon.  At 6:00 pm the north lane for westbound traffic will be closed until the early morning hours on Friday.  […]

Five Fond du Lac men have been arrested in connection with a car vandalism spree this week. Fond du lac police say nobody was injured after gunshots were fired apparently following an argument.  Police captain Pat McKeough says the incident was reported about 11pm Tuesday.  McKeough says the incident happened on South Street…and four people have been questioned as police piece together what happened.  Police are still looking for the person who fired the shots.
