A hefty cash bail has been ordered for a Campbellsport martial arts instructor accused of sexually assaulting one of his students. Forty three year old William Schellinger made his initial Fond du Lac court appearance Thursday on two counts of second degree sexual assault of a child and one count of repeated sexual assault of the same child. Judge Gary Sharpe set bail at $100,000 cash. According to a criminal complaint Schellinger had sex with a 15 year old girl on multiple occasions in a back room at the martial arts studio. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 10th.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
