MILWAUKEE (AP) — One couple who sued to overturn Wisconsin’s ban on gay marriage is planning to get married next month on their 30th anniversary together. Garth Wangemann and Roy Badger, of Milwaukee, have been together since Election Day in 1984. Wangemann spoke earlier this year about his dream of marrying by their 30th anniversary, but he said then that he realized it probably wouldn’t happen and he was prepared to wait for a decision from the U.S. Supreme Court about whether gay marriage was legal.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
