A plea and sentencing hearing is scheduled for next month for a former Waupun police officer accused of burglarizing three businesses in Green Lake County. Bradley Young is accused of burglarizing a town of Green Lake restaurant and two grocery stores in Berlin and Markesan. Young was arrested August 6th, 2013 following a multi county crime spree and high speed chase with law enforcement in northern Wisconsin. He also faces charges in Barron and Burnett counties. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for December 17th in Barron County. He is also awaiting an initial court appearance in Waushara County where he is accused of burglarizing a tavern.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
