A Fond du Lac woman was injured after she was struck by a pickup truck while riding her bicycle. Assistant police chief Steve Klein says the incident happened Wednesday on Promen Drive in Lakeside Park. “We had an individual traveling on a bike near the pavillion on the bike path and there was a vehicle stopped at the stop sign. As the vehicle began to pull away the bike came through the crosswalk and the bicyclist was struck and thrown from the bicycle,” Klein told WFDL news. The victim was transported to St. Agnes Hospital with what were described as non life-threatening injuries.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
