todayOctober 24, 2014

A Mount Calvary girl is living the dream of a lifetime this weekend…an audience with Pope Francis at the Vatican in Rome.  Kayla Doll is a 14 year old home-schooled girl from the Holyland in Fond du lac County chosen to hand a crown to the Pope.  Kayla’s father Kevin says the family is part of an apostolic movement in the Roman Catholic faith called Schoenstatt.  “This is a Catholic movement originated in Germany and its built off of a presence that the blessed mother  will lead you to Jesus,”  Doll told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program.   Kayla will present the crown to Pope Francis on Saturday and have a few minutes to speak with him.  “In her girl’s group they have been putting together this crown and it stands for how they want to live their lives for purity and nobility and be good Catholic girls and grow up showing those virtues,” Doll said.    Doll says he is very proud of his daughter and says Kayla  lives her faith daily.  “She takes it to heart.  We are very devout Catholics.  Its a nice, loving way to grow as a family and to have this common bond between us.”   The meeting with the Pope will be broadcast live at 4am Saturday on the Catholic network EWTN, Charter cable channel 67 and rebroadcast at 11am.
