A Rock County Circuit Court judge has officially announced his candidacy for a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Judge James Daley made the announcement at a news conference Monday. Daley made the unofficial announcement last August in an interview on AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program that he plans to run against justice Ann Walsh Bradley when her term expires next year. Daley says he’s also concerned about the dynamics between the justices pointing to a physical confrontation between justices Prosser and Bradley following an argument over Act 10.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
