Fond du Lac parks officials say a fawn probably died after being gored by a buck in the deer pen at Lakeside Park over the weekend. A citizen called police to report what appeared to be a dead deer in the pen. Police investigated and discovered what they thought looked like a possible bullet wound to the fawn. But parks officials say its more likely that the fawn was accidentally or intentionally gored by another deer. Police searched the area but did not find any shell casings or other evidence that shots were fired. They are still asking anyone from the public with information to call police.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
