Nobody was injured in a fire that significantly damaged a service building adjacent to Fred’s Fastrac in Peebles. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Cameron McGee says shortly after 7:30am Wednesday volunteer firefighters from several departments were called to the scene off of Highway 151 in Peebles. The blaze caused significant damage to the inside of the service building adjacent to the main store. It appears to have started in an area where one of the machines was being serviced.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
