MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin election officials say state voters have cast more than 146,000 absentee ballots so far.  The Government Accountability Board released figures Monday that show 146,196 absentee ballots were cast through Friday. Of those, 90,452 were cast in local clerk's offices and 55,717 were cast by mail. 10-28-14 minimum wage lawsuit

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A labor group is suing Republican Gov. Scott Walker to force the state to raise the minimum wage from the current $7.25 per hour.  The lawsuit comes after the state labor department rejected complaints from about 100 workers who say the minimum wage is too low. 10-28-14 dodge county dog mauling

Dodge County sheriff's officials say a Rottweiler that killed a 7-year-old boy was owned by his family.  The dog attacked Logan Meyer last Friday evening at a Town of Hustisford residence.  A 911 caller said the boy was bleeding profusely. Authorities say dispatchers talked the child's mother through CPR. The boy died at the scene despite life-saving efforts by first responders from several agencies.

10-28-14 deer found dead in lakeside park deer pen

Fond du Lac parks officials say  a fawn probably died after being gored by a buck in the deer pen at Lakeside Park over the weekend.  A citizen called police to report what appeared to be a dead deer in the pen.  Police investigated and discovered what they thought looked like a possible bullet wound to the fawn.  But parks officials say its more likely that the fawn was accidentally […]

10-28-14 rock county judge announces run for state supreme court

A Rock County Circuit Court judge has officially announced his candidacy for a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court.  Judge James Daley made the announcement at a news conference Monday.  Daley made the unofficial announcement last August in an interview on AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program that he plans to run against justice Ann Walsh Bradley when her term expires next year.  Daley says he’s also concerned about […]

10-27-14 two people seriously injured in fdl county motorcycle accident

Two people were injured in a motorcycle crash in Fond du lac County.  Rescue personnel were called to the scene on Vista Drive near Lakeview Road shortly after 5:30pm Saturday.  The accident happened when the motorcycle went on the gravel shoulder and the operator lost control.  The operator, a 49 year old Adell man and his wife were injured.  Neither party was wearing a helmet.  Both subjects were flown by […]

10-27-14 waupun man seriously injured in truck vs tractor accident

A truck versus farm tractor accident in Fond du Lac County seriously injured a Waupun man.  Sheriff’s sergeant Jeff Bonack says the accident happened shortly before 6am Saturday on County Highway T in the town of Lamartine when the pickup rear ended the tractor.  The pickup truck driver, a 51 year old Waupun area man was flown by helicopter to Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee with serious injuries.  The tractor operator, […]
