LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) — Republican Governor Scott Walker and Democratic challenger Mary Burke both made appearances Saturday in La Crosse during weekend campaigning that took them across the state. Burke stopped at the La Crosse County Democratic Party headquarters. The former Trek Bicycles executive talked about equal pay and women’s health care, drawing applause from the more than 100 supporters in attendance.  Walker spoke at the county Republican Party’s north side headquarters and met with an audience of about the same size. The newspaper reports he criticized Burke for running what he called a negative campaign and touted the tax cuts he’s signed into law. He appeared with Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus and the GOP’s secretary of state candidate Julian Bradley.
