The Fond du Lac County Clerk is predicting a voter turnout locally higher than the statewide projections. Liasa Freiberg predicts 68-percent of eligible voters in Fond du lac County will cast ballots in Tuesday’s election. “I took into consideration the Ripon School District referendum. I feel it is going to draw people over there. Fond du Lac county is typically higher than the state,’ Freiberg said. Freiberg says in person absentee voting was steady but not unusually high.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
