Bail has been modified for a Fond du Lac man involved in an armed domestic standoff in Fond du Lac County last month. Fond du Lac judge Robert Wirtz ordered cash bail of $40,000 For 31 year old James Walsh. Bail was originally set at $60,000 cash. Walsh is charged with first degree recklessly endangering safety, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, misdemeanor battery-domestic abuse and disorderly conduct-domestic abuse. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 14th. Nobody was injured in the incident . The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office responded last month after receiving a report of shots fired at a residence on Lost Arrow Road. The SWAT team was called and Walsh was taken into custody without incident after about a five hour standoff.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
