A fundraising site has been established for a 13-year-old Fond du Lac boy who was seriously injured after he was struck by a car while riding his bicycle.  According to a Facebook page Grant Corbin is coming out of a medically induced coma at Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee.  More than 70 people have donated nearly $2500 in a special hospital fund set up at gofundme.com to help pay for outstanding medical bills.  The 7th grader was injured October 28th when he collided with a car at the intersection of Western Avenue and Military Road in Fond du lac.  According to the Facebook page Corbin has extensive brain injuries and has already undergone two surgeries due to bleeding in his brain. He has developed pneumonia because of fluid in his lungs.  Grant is described as a “very athletic young man who enjoys playing football, baseball and is also a swimmer. He enjoys reading and has to always have the last word. He has two wonderful sisters and a great brother all at home. When Grant grows up he wants to major in mathematics and physics.”   The teen attends STEM Institute in Fond du Lac and is a chess player.
