MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The state Department of Natural Resources has reversed course and released nearly all the names of employees who were disciplined last year. An Associated Press review of DNR discipline records obtained through an open records request in March found the agency sent 26 letters reprimanding, suspending or terminating employees in 2013. The agency redacted all the employees’ names, saying they weren’t needed to satisfy the public’s interest in knowing the DNR properly disciplines workers. The Lakeland Times threatened to sue the DNR for the names in June. The agency released half the names to that newspaper in August and released all the names but one to The AP at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. DNR officials had no immediate comment on why the 26th name was withheld.
