MILWAUKEE (AP) — A southern Wisconsin judge has rejected a request by a conservative group to investigate the Milwaukee County prosecutor behind a secret probe into Governor Scott Walker’s campaign and his allies. Online court records show Dodge County Judge Steven Bauer declined the request made by conservative activist Chris Kliesmet.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
