11-11-14 plea deal in the works in fdl child abuse case

WFDL news has learned a plea deal is in the works for a Fond du lac man accused of failing to prevent his wife from abusing two children.  Troy Riehl is charged with five counts including party to the crime of child neglect and abuse and failure to prevent child abuse.  According to a criminal complaint Riehl did not physically abuse the two boys, but did nothing to protect them.  A plea and sentencing hearing is scheduled for November 19^th as the prosecution and Riehl’s attorney negotiate the details of a potential plea agreement.  Meanwhile a plea and sentencing hearing is scheduled for next month for 46 year old Jeana Riehl.  She is scheduled to go on trial in January on 10 counts of child abuse and neglecting a child.  According to a criminal complaint Jeana Riehl is accused of  abusing two boys for a period of several years…striking them with a rolling pin,  cutting board, horse whip and hunting arrow, and locking one of the boys in a bathroom for weeks.
