Thanksgiving this year holds special opportunity to celebrate the season of sharing.  Seven hundred Fond du Lac families at or below 130 % of the poverty level  qualify for a Thanksgiving Turkey.  “We’re reaching out to the community, inviting those that can to share a turkey or another main dish meat and show the heart of Fond du Lac,” Salvation Army Captain Steven Wilson said.  Turkeys, Cornish hens, roasts, whole chickens, hams and professionally processed venison may be donated.  To facilitate donations, The Salvation Army will again create a community “Turkey Roundup.”  For more information, to make a tax deductible contribution  call 923-8220.  The turkeys and other main dish meats will combine with traditional holiday meal ingredients to become Thanksgiving food baskets The Salvation Army and Broken Bread share on November 21:  a collaboration of kindness our community can be thankful for.”
