A bond hearing is scheduled for Tuesday for a 31-year-old former Fond du Lac resident charged in the abduction, torture and stabbing of his wife’s ex-boss in Virginia. Andrew Schmuhl of Springfield, Va., is a Fond du Lac native and 2001 graduate of St. Mary’s Springs High School. Schmuhl and his wife, Alecia Schmuhl, both attorneys, have been charged in Fairfax County Virginia with the stabbing attack of another couple. Police say Andrew Schmuhl posed as a police officer and forced his way into the home of the couple, stabbing both of them repeatedly . Police say Schmul fled when the woman was able to activate a home alarm. The victims remain hospitalized with what are described as life-threatening injuries. The 61-year-old male victim is a managing partner at the northern Virginia law firm that recently fired Alecia Schmuhl. Alecia Schmuhl told investigators she was not aware what her husband planned to do, but prosecutors say a video shows her buying a Taser at a store two days before the attack, according to a Washington Post story published Nov. 14.
