A Fond du Lac man convicted of dealing heroin is going to prison. At a sentencing hearing Tuesday Fond du Lac judge Peter Grimm sentenced Timothy Gaudinier to five years in prison with 5 years extended supervision on a conviction of possession of heroin with intent to deliver. The judge ordered five years probation and imposed and stayed an 18 month prison sentence and two years extended supervision on a charge of maintaining a drug trafficking place. Two other counts were dismissed and read into the record.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
