Wisconsin home sales rose significantly last month and median prices continued to grow at a solid rate. That according to the latest figures released by the Wisconsin Realtors Association. Wisconsin Realtors Association economist, David Clark, says existing home sales in October were 9.6 percent higher than October 2013 while median prices were up 4.2 percent over that same period. “If you look at Fond du lac County their sales really spike,” Clark told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program. “They were up 50 percent in October of this year compared to October of last year and median prices were up 26 percent.” Clark says the October sales spike brought the statewide year to date sales to just two percent below the first 10 months of last year.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
