A Lomira High School student is in custody in connection with an armed robbery at a Brownsville gas station this week. Dodge County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Scott Smith says the 17 year old boy was taken into custody Tuesday morning. The boy is accused of robbing the BP gas station in Brownsville Monday. Smith says the teen told the clerk he had a gun and fled the store with a carton of cigarettes. The teen was transported to the Dodge County Jail.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
