Nobody was injured and one person is in custody following a shooting incident in Fond du lac. Police were called to the area of 427 W. Johnson Street near Taco Bell shortly before midnight Monday night to a report of shots fired in the parking lot of a business. A vehicle matching the description of a suspect vehicle was spotted in the 700 block of Crestview Lane with several individuals exiting the vehicle and entering a residence. Shortly thereafter, several individuals left that residence, got into two vehicles, one of which was the suspect vehicle, and left the area. Police conducted high risk stops on the vehicles in the area of Pioneer Road and County Highway V. Several individuals were taken into custody without incident. Through the ensuing investigation and questioning, one subject, a 20 year old Fond du Lac man did admit to firing a shot from a handgun into the air. . All other subjects involved were released from custody. The incident is believed to be drug related.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
