A Fond du Lac man arrested in connection with a shooting incident in the Taco Bell parking lot this week has been charged. Nineteen year old Dao Vang made his initial court appearance on charges of first degree recklessly endangering safety, carrying a concealed weapon and obstructing an officer. According to a criminal complaint Vang fired a shot from a pistol into the air following an argument over a marijuana transaction. Nobody was injured. Vang was later arrested at gunpoint by Fond du lac police in the area of Pioneer Road and County Highway V. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 4th.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
