A fundraiser is being held this weekend for a 13 year old Fond du Lac boy who was injured earlier this month in a car versus bicycle accident. Grant Corbin has returned home from Children’s Hospital to continue his recovery after suffering serious head injuries in the accident. Doctors say he won’t need reconstructive surgery to fix fractures on his face, but he will have to have surgery to replace the part of his skull doctors removed to give his brain room to swell. A fundraiser for the family will be held starting at 6:30pm Saturday at the Retlaw Hotel in Fond du Lac.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
