In accordance with Fond du Lac County’s holiday schedule, the County offices in the City/County Government Center, the Sheriff’s Office lobby window, the Portland Street Annex including the Veteran Services Office, the Highway Department, the Department of Social Services and the Department of Community Programs will be closed on Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28, 2014, in observance of Thanksgiving.

11-22-14 sheriff’s office investigating carl’s auto repair and sales fire

The Fond du lac County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fire this week that significantly damaged an auto dealership.  Investigators say the fire Wednesday night at Carl’s Auto Repair and Sales on North Rolling Meadows Drive appears to have started outside the southwest corner.   The cause of the fire is undetermined and no injuries were reported.   The sheriff’s office is investigating evidence and any video footage that  is […]

Nobody was injured in a fire that destroyed a Fond du Lac home Friday morning.  Troy Haase with the Fond du Lac fire department says firefighters were called to 180 Ledgeview Drive near Park Avenue.  Haase says the parents had taken their kids to school and when they returned 20 minutes later the house was on fire.  Haase says it appears the fire started in the kitchen but the cause […]

A plea deal for a Fond du lac man accused of failing to prevent his wife from abusing two children has fallen through.  Troy Riehl is charged with five counts including party to the crime of child neglect and abuse and failure to prevent child abuse.  According to a criminal complaint Riehl did not physically abuse the two boys, but did nothing to protect them. (AP) — The Federal Bureau of Investigation is conducting another investigation in Oshkosh, but won't divulge the reason.  FBI agents in unmarked vehicles were parked outside an apartment building and garage on Thursday.
