12-8-14 gudex receives state senate committee assignments

Republican state senator Rick Gudex of Fond du Lac has been named chair of the Senate Economic Development and Commerce Committee.  Gudex has also been appointed vice chair of the Workforce Development, Public Works and Military Affairs Committee.  He will also serve on the Committee on Universities and Technical Colleges and Joint Legislative Council and is on the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation board.   The committee assignments were annouonced this week.   “Being appointed chairman of the Economic Development & Commerce Committee for a second consecutive session is a great honor. I am looking forward to building on the progress that we made last session and contributing to Wisconsin’s continued comeback,” said Sen. Gudex. “An example of building from last session will be adjusting the Wisconsin Fast Forward Program that was created from legislation I brought forward. We will continue to tweak the program this session to assist Wisconsinites seeking work to receive the necessary training to qualify for available jobs throughout our state,” Gudex added.  “I am also looking forward to being the State Senate representative to WEDC,” said Gudex. This private/public partnership is focused on promoting economic development and private sector job growth. While the new organization has had many successes over the past several years, it also had growing pains. Senator Gudex will be dedicated to helping WEDC become an even stronger partner in job creation for our state, while also serving as a steward for the tax dollars that are invested in the organization and their economic development efforts.
